How we run Haven Measure
Responsible business.
Practical commitments.
Our policies set clear expectations for the way we treat customers, suppliers, people and the environment.
We have adopted responsible-purchasing and environmental policies, with practical measures and evidence registers to guide implementation.
People and fair work
- Haven Measure is currently an owner-operated business. The people commitments below apply when staff are employed or regular labour is engaged; they are not a claim that a staff programme or employment history already exists.
- We commit to the applicable real Living Wage for directly employed staff and to addressing regularly contracted labour in line with the relevant standard. We will review pay arrangements when roles, locations or published rates change.
- Any future variable-hours arrangements will provide at least two weeks’ notice of shifts except emergencies, full payment for shifts cancelled within two weeks, freedom to decline shifts or request more fixed hours without penalty, and an annual review of actual hours.
- We support manageable workloads, respectful sickness handling and appropriate adjustments. Staff will have a route to raise concerns or suggestions without retaliation, with an alternative route for concerns about the Director and access to independent advice.
- Recruitment and development will use relevant, consistent criteria and accessible arrangements. Discrimination, bullying, harassment, victimisation and retaliation are not acceptable.
Environmental responsibility
- We consider the environmental effects of business journeys, energy, printing, devices and digital storage. The Director owns the plan and reviews it quarterly and when working arrangements materially change.
- We use remote meetings and electronic documents where suitable for the client and task, while carrying out necessary site work. We seek to avoid unnecessary printing and journeys, use equipment efficiently and extend device life where secure and practical.
- We use appropriate reuse and recycling routes and review stored material against genuine retention needs. We record an initial impact assessment, improvement actions and their outcomes rather than claiming unmeasured reductions or net-zero status.
Ethical purchasing
- We apply purchasing checks proportionate to the product or service and its risks. These consider supplier identity, labour and human-rights safeguards, relevant environmental issues, competence and data handling.
- The Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code informs our checks: voluntary work, worker voice, safe conditions, no child labour, fair wages, reasonable hours, equal treatment, regular employment and no abusive treatment. Relevant animal-welfare risks are considered where they arise.
- We give additional attention to labour providers and access to client records. We record relevant sources, findings and actions, and review suppliers annually or on a material change. A public-policy check is not an independent supply-chain audit.
Fair tax and supplier payments
- We commit to meeting tax obligations, using allowances for their intended purpose and dealing transparently with HMRC.
- We agree clear payment terms and pay within any shorter agreed deadline. Our policy is to pay small suppliers with 50 or fewer employees within 30 days of receipt and other suppliers within at most 60 days.
- We keep an invoice and payment record, raise genuine disputes promptly and work to resolve them. We do not silently reset the payment clock. Incoming client payments are separate from this supplier-payment commitment.
Customer care and information
- Our customer promise explains scope, pricing, timing, confidentiality and how to raise feedback or concerns. We record relevant feedback and actions and review the lessons monthly.
- Our privacy notice explains the information we handle, access and transfer arrangements, retention and optional campaign measurement. The Director is responsible for checking account and device protection, recoverable backups and incident readiness, and recording actions.
- These policies set our operating standards; they do not claim a certification, independent security audit or guaranteed outcome on a client project.
A clear commitment to our clients.
